Mauricio and Ricardo are a duo of brothers that are composers and singers born in Venezuela and raised in Miami. They started exploring their passion for music since a very young age. In 2010, they decided to dedicate completely to what they already knew their devotion was, forming today the duo that is recognized internationally as Mau y Ricky.
Mau, 24 years old, and Ricky, 27, besides being singers and composers, they are musicians and producers. As composers, they have composed hits for artists like Ricky Martin, Karol G, Sofía Reyes, Jason Derulo, De la Ghetto, Becky G, Thalía, Miguel Bosé, Ednita Nazario, among others. In 2017, the duo received a nomination to the Latin GRAMMY in the category “Song of the Year” for the international hit “Vente Pa’ Ca” interpreted by Ricky Martin and Maluma.
In 2016, the duo released their single “Voy Que Quemo”, which later formed part of their first EP Arte (Art), released on May 2017. Arte is composed by 6 songs, all which the brothers wrote themselves. This EP led them to receive a second nomination to the Latin GRAMMY 2017 as “Best New Artist”, where they took the stage to perform a new record that broke all of the barriers of Latin music, “Mi Mala”.
By the end of 2017, Mau y Ricky released a song with a completely different rhythm, titled “Mi Mala”. The song counted with the collaboration of Colombian artist, Karol G. The record has been Platinum-certified by the RIAA in the United States and Argentina, Gold-certified in Puerto Rico and Colombia; on top of positioning itself on the first positions of digital platforms Spotify and Apple Music.
In February 2018, “Mi Mala” Remix was released. This time Becky G, Leslie Grace, and Lali Esposito joined Karol G and Mau y Ricky. In its first 24 hours of release, the video surpassed 1.8 million views on YouTube, and today the song counts with more than 100 million views on YouTube combined [march 2018].
Social-media wise, Mau y Ricky have led to a consolidated fan base that exceeds 6 million.
Mau y Ricky are currently working on their next promotional single, which will be released very soon, as well as composing for other recognized artists of Latin music.
